Adding Lighting to the Underside of Your Poker Table
With a hole already feeding the rope light through to the underside of your table, you have an option here. You can either connect your rope to the controller and plug it in, giving you a standard lighted poker table, or you can take it a step further and wrap that rope all the way around the base of the table as well. Obviously you will need double the rope lighting, but the effect is kinda cool (Figure 5-1).
If you choose to just stick with the lighted rail, it works well to wrap your exposed rope light with electrical tape to prevent any additional glow under the table. It looks cool to have the whole bottom glow or to have the whole bottom dark. A smal glow in one area looks a little sloppy.
Figure 5-2 should give you a pretty good idea of how the finished product will look with the lighting under the table as well as on the top.
Whether you choose to add additional lighting features to your poker table or not, the only thing left to do is take a look at Step Seven – Poker Table Leg Options.
